Prather Research Lab

June 2024 - Dr. Prather received the Faculty Mentoring Excellence Award
for his mentoring of young faculty (both of whom just received
their first NIH RO1 grants!).  This was given by the members of the
UW Institutional Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE)

June 2024 - Dr. Prather was invited to present the results
of our educational research at the Annual Summit
of the NSF Improving Undergraduate STEM Education (IUSE)
in Washington, DC. 

June 2024 - During that same IUSE Summit, Dr. Prather was invited
to speak in a panel discussion of how to most effectively harness
emerging technologies to improve student learning outcomes.

May 2024 - Dr. Prather collaborated with the Dean of Graduate Education
to award one month of summer salary to graduate instructors
recognized for their excellence in leading broadly beneficial courses
in the Life Sciences Program.

May 2024 - Dr. Prather won his sixth teaching award
in recognition of his excellence as an instructor
in undergraduate STEM courses.  This award recognizes
Promoting Intellectual Engagement (PIE), and it is
his 15th teaching award overall!

April 2024 - Dr. Chris North was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award
by the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources.
This is the highest honor bestowed upon educators in the College!

March 2024 - Dr. Prather won the support of the Provost
and the College of Agriculture, Life Sciences, and Natural Resources
to award $5,000 each year to faculty instructors
recognized for their excellence in leading broadly beneficial courses
in the Life Sciences Program.

February 2024 - Dr. Prather traveled to teach English and Science
to children and adults in Casablanca, Morocco

February 2024 - The Prather Lab partners with other groups
across UW to explore ways to integrate AR and VR into Education

July 2023 - Dr. Prather receives a cross appointment
into the UW College of Education, School of Teacher Education
and Science and Math Teaching Center

July 2023 - Dr. Prather won an UW Academic Writing Fellowship

July 2023 - Dr. Prather was invited to Univ of Illinois to present our results from work done in the laboratory and the classroom

May 2023 - Ali Baas passed her Qualifier Exam with flying colors!

September 2022 - Dr. Prather and long-time collaborator Dr. Alan Buss were
invited to speak to the Wyoming LIFT Program (Lead, Inspire, Fulfill, Together)
to inspire students and share about the outstanding educational
opportunities available in Wyoming
